<image:title>About Me - I am a relational psychotherapist and I believe we can write our own life stories, although this sense of personal control can often feel far away or inaccessible. I offer a safe, free of judgement, space where we can work to regain, or claim, our true sense-of-self.</image:title>
<image:caption>As a former musician with over 10 years as a salaried performer and song-writer, I have lived experience of the pressures of performance and monetised creativity. I believe the pressure of performing for money affects everyone no matter their occupation or lifestyle, so I like using the power of imagination and art as an additional tool to help us move toward the places we want to inhabit. I also have an interest in couples work and have an accreditation in couples work from the Tavistock institute, London. As a relational therapist I am interested in how we work together in our sessions, and what sense we can make of our time together to hopefully more helpfully navigate the challenges we face when we're out in the world. Qualifications I'm a qualified psychotherapist (CTA) with a Masters Degree (MSc) in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma (Cl Dip) in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I'm certified by the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA) and have a certificate of accreditation in the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) endorsed ‘couples therapy for depression (CTFD)’ programme at the Tavistock Institute. I trained at the Metanoia Institute, London. I am registered with the professional bodies (M)BACP, UKCP, BAPAM, IARTA and EATA. I am a mentor for musicians through the Co-Pilot: the Musicians’ Mentoring Network. I have volunteered at Richmond Aid charity and Hounslow Youth Counselling Service. Location My practice is either online or in lovely therapy rooms in Richmond (https://thegreenhouserooms.com/) a short walk from the train station. Sessions Each session with me lasts 50 minutes and before commencing any full sessions, we have the opportunity for a 20 minute phone or video conference conversation to share an initial dialogue about what is going on in your life, and how we may work together. There is no charge for this. Our first sessions will explore what we want to achieve, how, and what has stood in the way to-date. It is an open space for you to bring what you feel you want or need to bring, and we can start from there.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Psychotherapy - Psychotherapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Psychotherapy offers a safe and confidential space to explore any issues or areas you’d like to discuss. Many people turn to psychotherapy when they are unhappy with elements of their current situation that they may have been aware of for some time: be it certain patterns of behaviour that are difficult, or if there is something less tangible - a more general sense of wanting to change. It is also an excellent opportunity to look at ways to excel, how to know yourself better to bring more of your true self into your life. Psychotherapy is usually a more long-term activity, and can be used to explore areas of emotional or behavioural difficulty. I have worked with people over a longer-term to look at issues such as grief, self-esteem, anxiety and stress, identity and purpose, eating disorders, work issues and family problems. I believe psychotherapy is a way to work together to gain a deeper understanding about the conscious personality and to raise awareness of unconscious feelings and the impact they have. Sometimes the work can feel uncomfortable but also very rewarding, and I offer a safe space for pschotherapeutic counselling where these feelings can be expressed without shame or fear. We can explore difficult feelings with curiosty to consider new, more satisfactory, experiences.</image:caption>
